Amazon Driver CAUGHT CARRYING AWAY Family Cat On Camera

A California family’s beloved pet cat disappeared from their front porch after an Amazon delivery driver allegedly picked up the animal and carried it away, according to doorbell camera footage that captured the shocking incident on May 14 in Bakersfield.

Doorbell Camera Captures Alleged Theft

Brenda Wilson’s security camera recorded the uniformed driver delivering a package to her home before encountering the family cat, Junie. The footage shows the driver petting the friendly feline, then picking her up and carrying her back toward his delivery truck. Wilson told local station KGET she felt “utter disbelief” that someone would take her family’s pet right from their doorstep in broad daylight.

Wilson said her children have owned Junie since 2022. The cat typically greets visitors but does not fight or scratch when handled. “He kind of made a sound to her, and you can see that as he got closer, she meowed at him,” Wilson explained. “I kind of wish she fought back. But that’s just not really in her nature.” The family discovered Junie missing and immediately reviewed their doorbell footage before contacting authorities.

Law Enforcement Investigation Underway

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies are actively investigating what authorities described as an apparent theft of a cat. Wilson filed an official police report after discovering the security footage. Amazon told KGET the driver works for a third-party contractor, not directly for the company. An Amazon spokesperson said the corporation is conducting its own investigation and has already spoken with both the driver and his employer about the incident.

Amazon pledged full cooperation with law enforcement as the criminal investigation continues. The driver’s face remains blurred in publicly released footage because authorities have not yet determined whether criminal charges are warranted. The company has not disclosed what disciplinary action, if any, it plans to take against the contractor or driver involved in the alleged theft.

Family Hopes For Safe Return

Wilson said she wants Junie returned safely and believes the driver could still make things right. “They could just drop her off in the driveway,” she said. “She knows what to do. She’ll come straight to the garage, get inside the house, and do what she has to do.” The family continues waiting for answers while deputies work to locate their missing pet and determine if the driver will face criminal charges for allegedly taking the cat from private property.
