DoorDash Driver Could Face HOMICIDE CHARGES In VETERAN’S DEATH

A 75-year-old Michigan military veteran died from injuries after a DoorDash driver allegedly sucker-punched him for asking him to slow down in their neighborhood, with the suspect now walking free on house arrest while prosecutors consider upgrading charges to homicide.

Five Months of Suffering Before Death

Lloyd Poole died May 16, nearly five months after the December 28 attack in Wixom, located roughly 30 miles from Detroit. The veteran endured seven brain surgeries, had part of his skull removed, and fought multiple infections and pneumonia twice before succumbing to his injuries. The medical examiner officially ruled his death a homicide caused by blunt force trauma. His stepdaughter Lindsey Gonzalez described the ordeal as a continuous downward spiral from the moment of the attack.

Poole and his wife had just returned from a trip to Ireland before the incident and were planning to visit Alaska this year. The attack cut short their retirement plans. Gonzalez expressed frustration that her mother and stepfather lost their golden years of traveling together because of one violent act.

Driver Admits Punch After Speeding Complaint

Ryan Daniel Turner, 40, allegedly struck Poole after the older man confronted him about reportedly speeding through the residential neighborhood. Police received a call about an unconscious man lying in the roadway. Turner went to the local police station and admitted to officers that he had punched Poole. He was initially arraigned on one count of aggravated assault before the victim’s death. Court records show Turner has a pre-trial hearing scheduled.

Family Demands Justice as Charges May Escalate

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed they are reviewing the case and may upgrade charges following Poole’s death. A representative said the office was saddened by Poole’s passing and pledged to continue seeking justice for the family. They will amend charges as appropriate based on the evidence. Gonzalez expressed frustration that Turner remains out of custody, noting he is on house arrest with an electronic tether but not behind bars. The family says the bond arrangement fails to deliver adequate accountability for what the medical examiner ruled a homicide.

  1. Any 40 year old who punches a 75 year old for telling him to slow down in a neighborhood and kills him needs to be charged and put in jail.

  2. With the world going down there is no respect for elders the young don’t respect the elders and its getting to the point its safer to keep quiet until its necessary to defend with extreme prejudice, am 60 and in fairly good shape people don’t believe am 60 until i tell but uts all about respect and communication which no one wants to do. People take offense to another person trying to educate. Its such a pity, i pray everyday that Jesus comes down even if i don’t make it to heaven or paradise or anyplace a holy person goes i would still want Jesus to come already and make it a peaceful earth with the promise the holy Bible makes.

    • Jesus is a Greek deity. Christianity was created by the Church of Rome in 325 AD from combining paganism and the Hebrew scriptures. Our Creator is Yahuah and the Messiah is Yahusha. None of the modern “Bibles” are accurate, they have all been adulterated by man. Look up the Constantine Creed!!!

  3. A week or two ago, Post Falls, Idaho, a door dash driver was running late. After a delivery at a local race track, he was using the wrong traffic lane to leave the area. An irate pedestrian threw a lawn chair at the door dash drivers van, aty which point the driver stopped, exited his van and beat the Hell out of the ped.He then prepared to leave the area, the assaukt victim approached the drivers side window of the van and was promptly shot to death. Driver arrested for hiimicide, bail at 2 million!

  4. Actually there is no respect for anyone these days. Not only the elderly. It is a sad world when people are treated like this.

  5. Not only do I find it very sad that our seniors citizens are treated with such disrespect! When I was a child, even into my teens, our parents would tell us to always respect our grandparents. Because if it was not for them, our parents would not have been born, meaning we would not have been either! I believe the U.S. is still the only country that does not take care of the elderly. Most end up all alone when their time is up, or have already been placed in an assisted living community, & the kids of course never stop by to visit bcuz they are to busy trying to sell their surviving parents house, while giving all there personal belongings to GoodWill or the Salvation Army. So very sad indeed!

  6. As in the Word of God, it is written that lawlessness and violence will increase in the last days. Evil abounds everywhere.

  7. The veteran was right in telling the Doordash driver to slow down in a residential area, and that driver needs to be charged with murder and imprisoned for the remainder of his sad-pathetic life!
