Two Florida educators who share a child together now face criminal charges after a violent confrontation inside their school classroom left one unconscious and the other pepper-sprayed, according to police reports from the Miami incident.
Violent Confrontation at Miami School
Odiria Shaya Biggins and Terrod Torrence, both 36 years old, engaged in a physical altercation Friday at the SEED School of Miami. The incident began when Torrence left a note on his former partner’s desk requesting a conversation, according to police documents obtained by local news station WSVN. What started as a workplace discussion quickly escalated into violence.

Police reports state that Torrence struck Biggins multiple times in the head during the confrontation. He then pushed her against a classroom wall, where she fell and lost consciousness. The attack left the mother of his child temporarily unresponsive inside the educational facility where both were employed as teachers.
Pepper Spray Retaliation Caught on Video
After regaining consciousness, Biggins left the classroom and retrieved pepper spray from her vehicle. She returned to the scene and deployed the chemical weapon against Torrence, according to the police report. Surveillance footage captured her entering the classroom, followed by Torrence stumbling out moments later. The video showed him struggling to walk and suffering visible eye irritation from the pepper spray exposure.
The video evidence corroborated witness statements and physical evidence collected at the scene. Authorities used this footage as part of their investigation into the incident, which occurred during school hours at the Miami educational institution.
Criminal Charges Filed Against Both
Biggins was taken into custody Monday and faces charges of discharging a weapon on school grounds along with domestic violence battery. Torrence was arrested Tuesday on domestic violence charges. Police have not disclosed the duration of their prior relationship or the specific circumstances that triggered the classroom confrontation. The incident raises serious questions about school safety protocols and employee vetting procedures.

This case highlights vulnerabilities in educational settings when personal conflicts enter professional environments. This is a class act. Bet the students were greatly entertained. Thet both should have their license lifted. These are not the kind of teachers I want my kids paying attention to. Why is it that the people of the darker hue have so much trouble adhering to normal social mores. After working so hard to attain a respectable education and position, they toss it all away.
Neither one should be allowed to ever stand in front of students again. This is NOT what we need as an example for our children. As a retired teacher that spent over 40 years in the classroom, I am appalled at what is being hired as instructors nowadays.
And it’s surprises NO ONE that they’re black.
This is not a black thing. It is the behavior of people who are lacking impulse control. I am sure there are times in everyone’s life like you felt like whacking somebody, but held back. I was taught in therapy when i was very young that it is ok to have the feeling but don’t act on it. From that day forward I learned the difference. I do believe they should not be working in the classroom. They need to work on themselves first.

Lets just disregard that they are black. Their skin color has nothing to do with this. This is obviously a dispute about the child. It is also obvious that they had strong feeling for each other at one time or a moment in time. Both may have destroyed their careers as educators thus impacting the support for the child. The court should issue a restraining order against them having contact with each other and the child should be removed from the custody of both for the foreseeable future. The act of getting into a physical confutation at their worksite is made even more disturbing by the fact that they are/were teachers at that facility. It is really hard to forgive this level of stupidity and unprofessional conduct. Sounds like these two should be sweeping the floors at the school instead of teaching there.
