A security guard and father of four died after being beaten by a suspect released from jail just six days earlier for a nearly identical assault, raising urgent questions about Milwaukee’s catch-and-release policies that left a violent offender free to strike again.
Fatal Encounter at Milwaukee Parking Garage
Dylan Plouff, 34, confronted Daniel Mcrae on May 18 while working security at the MacArthur Square garage in Milwaukee. Mcrae was attempting to break into vehicles in the early morning hours when Plouff intervened. The confrontation turned violent as Mcrae brutally attacked the security guard, inflicting injuries that would prove fatal two weeks later. Milwaukee police confirmed Plouff died on June 2, though officials stated his exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
The 32-year-old suspect was arrested following the assault, and criminal charges were referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office. As of June 3, prosecutors confirmed receiving the case but indicated the investigation remains ongoing. Mcrae now faces scrutiny not only for this fatal attack but for the system failure that allowed him freedom despite his violent history.
Released Despite Similar Violence
Just six days before killing Plouff, Mcrae walked out of jail on May 12 without facing any charges for a strikingly similar assault. During that earlier incident, Mcrae injured a police officer during his arrest. Despite the violence against law enforcement and the parallel nature of the crimes, authorities released him without prosecution. The decision created a direct path from jail to a fatal encounter that destroyed a young family.
The pattern reveals a dangerous gap in Milwaukee’s justice system where violent offenders return to the streets before prosecutors file charges. The brief window between Mcrae’s release and his next attack left no time for intervention or evaluation of the threat he posed to public safety.

Plouff leaves behind a wife, four children, and his mother, who now face the unimaginable task of burying a 34-year-old husband and father. The family launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral expenses and provide financial support during the coming months. His loved ones described him as a hardworking, kind-hearted young man who would help anyone in need. He was working to provide for his family when he encountered a man the system had failed to keep off the streets despite clear warning signs of violent behavior.

WE NEED TO START CHARGING THE PEOPLE WHO RELEASE THE OR THE FAMILY SHOULD BE ABLE TO SUE FOR THE RELEASE THAT ENDED UP COSTING THEM A FAMILY MEMBER
When are these liberal courts and DA’s going to actually follow the law and prosecute criminals and convict them? Enough of innocent victims and police getting attacked.
The reason we have this problem is that our court system and government(s) (federal, state, and most cities) are NOT legitimate. Our nation was turned into a foreign-owned corporation by the Act f 1871. The courts are run under British Maritime Law. Most of our laws are unconstitutional, and true law is ignored because of the illegitimate court’s control. Every person with a social security number is a “slave” to this corporation because of their ignorance and/or failure to stop it. This is why Trump is so persecuted – he is an outsider and actually intent on following the Constitution and true law. It is also the reason that the left and many in government violate federal immigration law and are never charged or prosecuted. The same reason that leftist organizations (BLM, Antifa, etc.) riot, loot, damage property, and assault law enforcement and are NEVER prosecuted. And why we hear of the trillions of dollars that have been stolen by a corrupt government through NGOs, government programs, and other fraud but never see them prosecute or the money recovered. And let’s not forget how elections are stolen, and the courts continue to dismiss the claims for lack of evidence, even when there is a mountain of video, photo, and eyewitness evidence. It will not end until we stop pushing for unity with the left, and treat them as the enemy that they are. Instead, all we ever do is complain and never ACT!

The Court that released that criminal needs to pay for all that poor family expenses. There is absolutely NO reason for that criminal to be released.
I hope at least that same court puts him in prison for LIFE without parole.
I wonder how the judge, etc., would feel if it was their family member or loved one who was killed by a loser with a history of violence? Bet they wouldn’t be so fast to let him go!
