A 19-year-old Illinois man faces murder charges after prosecutors say he stabbed a pregnant woman more than 70 times, set her body on fire, and killed her dog—all over a used pickup truck dispute. Hours after the brutal attack, he appeared calm and tried to sleep in the back of a police car.
Facebook Marketplace Transaction Turns Deadly
Nedas Revuckas pleaded not guilty this week to killing Eliza Morales, 30, and her unborn child on January 26 in Downers Grove, a Chicago suburb. Prosecutors say the attack stemmed from a Facebook Marketplace dispute over a red 1994 Ford Ranger pickup that Revuckas purchased from Morales and her husband. Upset about the vehicle’s condition, Revuckas arranged to meet at the couple’s apartment to return license plates and obtain a bill of sale.
Surveillance footage captured Revuckas obtaining a screwdriver from Morales before entering the apartment building. Once inside her unit, a violent struggle ensued. Investigators say he stabbed Morales, who was five months pregnant, more than 70 times before setting the apartment on fire. During the rampage, he also allegedly stabbed the family dog between the eyes, killing the animal.
Disturbing Behavior After Arrest
Police bodycam footage from hours after the killing shows Revuckas at his home appearing remarkably calm, showing no signs of fear or aggression. He initially denied entering Morales’ apartment but later confessed to the murder, according to prosecutors. Video from inside the police vehicle transporting him to jail shows him attempting to nap, appearing unconcerned about the horrific crimes he allegedly committed.
Facing Multiple Serious Charges
Revuckas now faces numerous charges including first-degree murder, intentional homicide of an unborn baby, arson, armed robbery, and animal cruelty. The case highlights growing concerns about safety in online marketplace transactions, where buyers and sellers meet strangers to exchange goods. The tragic incident claimed three lives—Morales, her unborn child, and the family pet—over what prosecutors describe as dissatisfaction with a used vehicle purchase. The case proceeds through the Illinois court system as the community mourns the senseless loss.

The POS deserves an immediate firing squad, not life in prison being kept alive on the taxpayers dime.

He should be executed immediately, no trial necessary. Legal system is far too slow and lenient.
I can only hope that, for once, a Chicago judge can forget wokeness, can forget DEI, and do what is right. Do not let this excuse for a human being walk after arraignment by putting him in jail until his trial. That the jury do their just rights by sentencing the man to life without parole. A murder of this magnitude will not go well with the other prisoners in prison; he will get his just desserts from his fellow inmates.
