An intoxicated Ohio couple violently attacked a family of three, including a 9-year-old child, after forcing their way into the victims’ cruise ship cabin when asked to quiet down, authorities report.
Drunken Argument Turns Violent
The incident began when suspects Jacox and Hicks engaged in a loud, alcohol-fueled argument that disturbed neighboring passengers. When one victim politely requested they lower their voices, Hicks immediately confronted the family member. Jacox then approached with his cellphone, recorded the encounter, and actively encouraged Hicks to physically attack the victim, according to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey.
During the assault, Jacox struck all three family members, including the child, while Hicks threw wild punches in multiple directions. Sheriff Ivey described Hicks as recklessly swinging at the victims, hoping her blows would land. The attack occurred inside the family’s own cabin after the couple barged through the door uninvited.
Injuries and Arrests
Jacox sustained an eye injury during the confrontation, though authorities cannot determine whether it came from one of the victims defending themselves or from Hicks’ uncontrolled punching. None of the three family members suffered serious injuries despite the assault. Both suspects were arrested following the incident, though authorities have not disclosed which cruise line was involved or the ship’s location at the time.
Warning to Cruise Passengers
Sheriff Ivey used the arrests to issue a stern public warning about excessive drinking and disorderly conduct. He emphasized that individuals who cannot control their alcohol consumption should not be in public spaces where they can harm innocent people, particularly children. The sheriff made clear that such behavior would not be tolerated in Brevard County, where cruise ships frequently dock at Port Canaveral.
The case highlights growing concerns about passenger conduct on cruise ships, where alcohol flows freely and confined spaces can escalate conflicts rapidly. The attack on a child particularly underscores the dangers when intoxicated passengers lose self-control in environments where families expect safe vacation experiences.

As a child I was repeatedly assaulted by the very people who were supposed to be my protectors when they were drinking and my mom would tell me I was always supposed to forgive them because one was my dad the other my spiritual leader at our church and the head of our church who God gave his authority to when he said to Peter from now on your name will be no longer sail but it will be Peter and upon this rock and it must have been his rock hard head because the Catholic church has rocks in their brains with their behavior letting their priest tell people that no matter what they do they will always go to heaven just because they are Catholics and only Catholics go to heaven. My dad was taught that and so was I but after the things I saw and the things those people of trust did to me I left the Catholic church and my dad just the day before he died told me I was going to hell for leaving the church but despite being a child abuser and not ever doing anything I ever saw that sent anything in treasures up to Jesus dad believed he did a great job in raising his children and said as much after I asked if he would have done anything different in raising us. He said he wouldn’t change one thing so I reminded him of all the beatings we got on our birthdays and for Christmases instead of gifts and how he went to bed drunk after locking his daughter in a refrigerator and if my brother hadn’t let her out he would be guilty of murdering his only daughter then I asked his if Jesus was the sacrifice for his sins and I couldn’t believe how long it took him to think about it but he eventually said yes and I hope I said all the right words and led him correctly that day to salvation but I don’t know if I was able to overcome all of his believes he held in his childhood for the Catholic church salvation only or your going to hell faith.

Totally shocked, and on a cruise!!! Who woulda thunk!!!
Usually conducted by our Privileged Race. They are never held accountable. It is about time they were. And why is the cruise line not mentioned? We would all like to know. That is public information and we should be aware of it.
