A Los Angeles TikToker with over 23,000 followers filmed herself entering a West Hollywood coffee shop and demanding customers leave, claiming the business owner supports Israel. Madison Dunaetz, who posts under the handle redheadheretic, has launched multiple videos targeting local businesses she accuses of Israeli connections, turning her social media platform into a harassment campaign against small business owners.
Activist Targets Multiple LA Businesses
Dunaetz entered the West Hollywood location of Couplet Coffee and recorded herself confronting patrons. In the video, she identified owner Gefen Skolnick as someone whose parents are from Israel, urging customers to boycott the establishment. The TikToker thanked people who left the shop after her disruption. This incident represents just one of several attacks Dunaetz has launched against Couplet, repeatedly posting content about the business to her substantial following.
The self-described leftist activist has expanded her campaign beyond Couplet Coffee. She targeted an LA food truck owner for being what she termed a Zionist who visits Israel and posts vacation photos. Dunaetz also criticized Laurel Supply, an organic market in Santa Monica, claiming the shop removed a Palestinian-owned olive oil brand from its shelves. Her content includes posts titled “How to identify an Israeli owned restaurant” and “Los Angeles or Tel Aviv,” suggesting a systematic effort to identify and shame businesses with perceived Israeli connections.
Business Owner Focuses on Coffee, Not Politics
Skolnick describes herself on the Couplet Coffee website as a proud queer woman and coffee lover who felt intimidated by specialty coffee culture. She launched the business in 2022, initially selling her unique coffee blend online before opening a physical location in Los Angeles in 2025. The company now operates five locations throughout Southern California, including shops in West Hollywood, Echo Park, and Santa Monica. Skolnick makes no mention of Israel or political affiliations on her business website, focusing entirely on her passion for making specialty coffee accessible to everyone.
Activist Declines Comment
When contacted by The California Post, Dunaetz refused to discuss her actions or explain her targeting of local businesses. She stated “I have no comment” before ending the conversation abruptly. Her TikTok biography identifies her as a Los Angeles native who studied in Palestine in 2017. The activist refers to herself as a “Leftist Karen” in her content, appearing to acknowledge the confrontational nature of her approach while continuing to post videos identifying and criticizing businesses based on their owners’ backgrounds or perceived political positions.
