A suspect wanted for deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement remains at large after fleeing a high-speed chase that ended in a violent crash, injuring innocent motorists and a federal agent in northwest Houston Saturday morning.

Chase Ends in Violent Collision

The pursuit concluded near Fallbrook Drive and Veterans Memorial Drive around 6:40 a.m. when the fleeing suspect crashed into another vehicle, causing it to flip over. The occupants of the overturned vehicle suffered minor injuries in the collision. A passenger traveling with the suspect refused medical treatment at the scene but later sought hospital care. Harris County Sheriff’s Office Major Al Blendermann confirmed his agency assisted ICE during the operation.

Montgomery County authorities first alerted Harris County Sheriff’s Office about the chase on Interstate 45 heading toward Houston around 6:30 a.m. The crash occurred approximately ten minutes later. According to Lt. Shannon Bowdoin, the suspect was being pursued because he had a final removal order from immigration authorities, meaning he had been ordered deported from the United States.

Suspect Vanishes Into Woods

After the crash, the suspect abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot into nearby wooded areas. Deputies deployed a K9 unit to track the fugitive, but the dog lost the scent during the search. The suspect’s identity has not been publicly released, and he remained at large as of Saturday afternoon. Lt. Bowdoin confirmed authorities were continuing efforts to locate and apprehend the individual.

Federal Agent Injured During Pursuit

An ICE agent sustained injuries during the chase before the final crash occurred. Lt. Bowdoin explained that the agent attempted to break the driver-side window of the suspect’s vehicle at another location during the pursuit. The agent cut his arm on the broken glass while trying to stop the fleeing vehicle. The extent of the agent’s injuries was not disclosed, though he received medical attention.
