A Florida man who returned to confront another driver in a Walmart parking lot now faces serious criminal charges after the victim suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed that may leave him permanently disabled.

Violent Confrontation at Hialeah Store

Christian Salgado, 46, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm following the May incident at a Hialeah Walmart. According to police reports, the confrontation began as a road rage dispute between two drivers. Rather than driving away, Salgado allegedly returned to the scene and blocked the victim’s vehicle while the victim’s pregnant girlfriend and young child remained inside. Witnesses captured video showing the injured man struggling to stand as bystanders called emergency services.

Police say Salgado punched the victim and slammed him onto the pavement with such force that the man required immediate hospitalization. The victim’s girlfriend drove him to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain. Emergency surgery was performed, and medical professionals warned that additional corrective spine surgery may be necessary. Doctors indicated the victim may never regain the ability to walk.

Judge Denies Bond Reduction Request

During a bond hearing, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer rejected defense requests to lower Salgado’s bond from the initial amount. When the defense attorney suggested a bond of ten thousand dollars, Judge Glazer refused outright. The judge stated that based on the severity of the injuries, Salgado should be held without bond entirely. She emphasized that the victim might never walk again, all because of anger over a traffic incident. The judge ultimately set bond at fifteen thousand dollars.
