DC Curfew FAILS As Mob TAKES Over Streets

Two hundred juveniles overwhelmed Washington D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood in a violent takeover that resulted in gunfire, multiple robberies, and two firearm arrests—just days after city officials established a juvenile curfew zone in the same area.

Chaos Erupts Despite New Curfew Measures

The disturbance began around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, when teens started gathering in a park near First Street and New Jersey Avenue SE. Within two hours, the crowd swelled to approximately 200 juveniles, many wearing black clothing, who ran through the streets fighting and terrorizing residents. Social media video captured the mayhem as Metropolitan Police struggled to disperse the aggressive mob. The incident came just days after D.C. established a temporary juvenile curfew zone specifically targeting the Navy Yard area, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of the city’s law enforcement strategies.

Multiple Victims and Firearm Arrests

At 9:15 p.m., a group of teens assaulted and robbed another juvenile, stealing his shoes and jacket. Additional fights broke out near First and M Streets SE shortly after. Around 9:45 p.m., National Guard members witnessed a 15-year-old fire a gun into the air inside the park. Officers quickly apprehended the teen, charging him with unlawful discharge of a firearm, endangerment with a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a license. Later, another group jumped and robbed two more juveniles near New Jersey Avenue and M Street, sending both victims to the hospital with injuries.

Officials and Critics Demand Action

At 10:34 p.m., Secret Service agents stopped a rideshare vehicle and arrested a 16-year-old after recovering a firearm he allegedly tried to discard. Interim Police Chief Jeffery W. Carroll, a Mayor Muriel Bowser appointee, commended officers for safely recovering two firearms but called on parents to monitor their children’s whereabouts. Even former Biden White House advisor Yemisi Egbewole criticized Democratic-run cities on social media, writing that blue cities need to wake up and stop tolerating such behavior. While citywide curfews for minors begin at 11 p.m., critics argue teen takeovers continue plaguing the district despite official intervention efforts. In total, two juveniles were arrested and two firearms recovered, though authorities reported no serious injuries.

  1. If these kids are juveniles you hall in the parents and heavily fine them for not taking care of their little brats. U have to start holding the parents responsible.

  2. If there was a juvenile curfew in place, enforce it. The parents need to do their job and control their children. If not, there should be consequences for both.
We have lost in place – enforce them.
When consequences are involved, the need of changes or come in to play.

  3. Everyone involved should be arrested and given a maximum sentence. Most of the parents probably could care less about their children and their behavior.? So arrest them too. The mobs are out of control and need to be taken off the streets. NOW !

  4. I agree 100% that parents should be, I accountable! For what their kids do out in the streets. I am 65 years old and my parents are very strict, the city did not have to set a curfew. If my mom tells you you have to be in at a certain time, you rather be there cuz you don’t want her to come looking for you because it won’t be pleasant. The city should not be responsible! For giving your kids and curfew, that’s your responsibility as a damn! parent, do your responsibilities.

  5. Correction! For a comment that I made, I was trying to say. Strict, and if we had to be home the time she tell us to be we better be home. Because if we wasn’t home at the time we supposed to be, and if she had to come looking for us it would not be a pleasant visit.
