An illegal immigrant truck driver who received his commercial license in California killed two newlyweds in Oregon before sanctuary policies allowed his release from custody, federal immigration officials confirmed this week.
Fatal Crash Claims Young Couple
Rajinder Kumar, 32, drove a semi-truck that jackknifed across both lanes of US Highway 20 in Deschutes County, Oregon on November 24, 2025. William Micah Carter, 25, and Jennifer Lynn Lower, 24, died when their Subaru Outback crashed into the blocked roadway. The couple had been married only 16 days. Kumar entered the United States illegally near Lukeville, Arizona in November 2022 and received release under federal policies during that administration.

Federal authorities granted Kumar work authorization after his illegal entry. California subsequently issued him a commercial driver’s license, allowing him to operate large trucks on American highways. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Kumar on April 22, 2026, weeks after Oregon officials released him from custody on April 2 despite the fatal crash.
Sanctuary Policies Under Fire
Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis criticized the decision chain that kept Kumar in the country and on the roads. Oregon officials declined to cooperate with ICE following Kumar’s initial arrest for the deadly crash. He remained free for three weeks before federal agents tracked him down. Kumar now faces removal proceedings at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma, Washington.
What This Means
The Department of Homeland Security highlighted this case as an example of how federal immigration policies and state sanctuary laws can intersect with deadly consequences. The incident raises questions about commercial license vetting procedures and cooperation between local and federal law enforcement agencies. Newscum and every other enabler need to be paying dearly for this abomination!!
I totally agree! What a shame that these two newlyweds had their lives cut short by a person who never should have been here in the first place. Action needs to be taken, and illegals need to be returned to their country/countries of origin. Prayers for the friends and family of the victims
ABSOLUTELY!!!
Just what is wrong with this country? He was released from custody for killing 2 innocent people. SMFH
This whole this is DISGUSTING!! California is bad enough not apparently Oregon doesn’t care about their own residents/citizens as well.
California ,Oregon and Washington citizens are certainly getting what they voted for. Northern CA , Eastern OR,WA should all secede from their states and form the North West Republic.
TERRIBLE!! Not this wreck, but several years ago I played in a band for a wedding, and the manager of the club asked ME to announce that that both the bride & the groom had been killed when they left the club and were hit head-on. SAD!!
An illegal immigrant?
Were they killed by an illegal immigrant or an American? Tragedy indeed in both cases! It is a tragedy any time people are killed in car accidents. We should demand the same treatment regardless of who was behind the wheel of a car that caused a fatal accident, whether they were an illegal or an American! It was a person who was negligent!
Read the article. It was an illegal alien.
NOT the same couple or story, that is why people are asking.
If it was an American at fault; that American would probably still be in jail.
The trucking company plays a big part in this also. They should have never hired him. This is only going to get worse as long as people keep voting democrap. This was so unavoidable.
Judges releasing felons should be held accountable for their action. They should be co-defendants forced to explain why they released the felon before a jury – not another corrupt judge.
Somebody needs to charge those responsible with facilitation of criminal activity. They are enabling it.
How about this. We should petition for a Federal law that requires all trucking companies to post a $1,000,000 bond for all non-USA English first language drivers that they have driving their trucks. We all know what the problems are; poor English language reading ability and lack of knowledge of our highway laws and signage. If there is an accident caused by a trucker lacking these basic skills, the victim has access to the money for a lawyer and hospital cost. Any trucking company (USA or Foreign) that would not agree to these simple terms should not have drivers on our roads. Call your congressional representatives , I WILL CALL MINE. If they will not sponsor a bill like this, they are not here for us!!!
Two young Americans dead – totally unnecessary and completely avoidable. Another result of Progressive Socialist policies. And the complete injustice of No One being held accountable (other than the truck driver)! With the California super majority in place, these corupt incompetent buerueacrats with no concience are always protected from their hurendously poor desions by a corupt, deceatful, “The end justifies the means” Democrat Party. “We the People” pay for their idiocy.
Sad that so many United States citizens are killed by people that shouldn’t be in this country. The people responsible for so much tragity and death continue to make bad decisions out here on the ‘Left Coast’ and continue to get away with these grotesqe policies that not only effect CA, but have now killed U.S. Citizens in other states. I live in the San Francisco bay area and am very glad and greatful to see the Federal Government finally step in and stop the stupidity of issueing CDL’s to unqualified individuals. However I bet to people that made these terrible decisions are still in place, still employed and will make other bad policies again if not stopped..
