The Justice Department has launched an investigation into Corey Lewandowski, a former senior adviser to ex-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, over allegations he exploited his government position for personal financial gain through department contracts.
Federal Probe Targets DHS Contracts
Two sources familiar with the matter confirmed the investigation stems from a referral by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General, which presented its findings in recent weeks. Lewandowski served as senior adviser and de facto chief of staff to Noem until both were removed from their positions in March. The allegations center on contracts established during Noem’s leadership of the department, with investigators examining whether Lewandowski personally profited from these arrangements.
Lewandowski has not faced criminal charges. His attorney, Adam Trigg, issued a statement denying any wrongdoing and noting his client has not been contacted by the Justice Department. Trigg emphasized Lewandowski served the country in a voluntary capacity at DHS. The Justice Department declined to comment on the ongoing investigation, which was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Trump Demands Accountability
President Trump addressed the investigation Thursday, telling reporters he had just learned about the matter and had not received a briefing from Attorney General Todd Blanche. His response was unequivocal about the standards he expects from administration officials. Trump stated he wants his people to be honest, and those who fail that standard must be prosecuted. The president framed dishonesty as an offense against both the nation and himself personally, declaring that honest behavior deserves recognition while dishonest actions require consequences.
Contract Approval Controversy
During her tenure, Noem implemented a policy requiring her personal written approval for any contracts, grants, or funding obligations exceeding one hundred thousand dollars. While the secretary intended this measure to strengthen oversight and accountability, department officials reported the policy created substantial delays for critical funding. Some officials said the approval bottleneck particularly affected disaster relief operations, raising concerns about the balance between financial controls and operational efficiency in emergency response situations.

Trump derangement syndrome on full display.
Trump derangement syndrome = Trump deceived suckers.
Trump telling Americans that he expects honesty from people on his staff is like calling the kettle black. Oh right, he doesn’t realize that many Americans, including conservatives. are on to his dirty deals which we’re not supposed to know about. Plus the fact that he has more than doubled his wealth since he started his second term in the oval office. It’s no wonder he was so anxious to become President. His lies, deceit and ego bigger than the Grand Canyon have caught up with him. It’s just shameful that some die hard. conned Trump supporters have been blinded to the truth.
TDS Is obvious in some of these jaded replies.
Trump just mad because the grifter in Chief didn’t get a piece of the action!
Trump fired the two the second he found out. Now, where is the proof he has doubleted his wealth while in office. His whole govt paycheck goes to various charity organizations. His sons own and run his former businesses now which is a normal parent’s goal with the businesses founded and grew by the parent. He’s not like Pelosi becoming millionaires using govt information gained from her congressional position that seems to land in her husband’s hands.
