A 22-year-old restaurant server was pepper sprayed and beaten during the lunch rush at a Georgia Cracker Barrel in what authorities describe as a planned retaliation attack involving multiple suspects.

Violent Assault During Busy Lunch Service

Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Cracker Barrel location on Park West Drive in Grovetown after two women allegedly attacked the young server on September 14, 2026. The victim was pepper sprayed and punched multiple times in front of customers during the restaurant’s busiest hours. Several coworkers who attempted to intervene were also exposed to the chemical spray during the assault. Columbia County Fire Rescue and Gold Cross EMS arrived at the scene to provide medical treatment to those affected by the pepper spray attack.

Major Andy Shedd with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that normal business operations resumed shortly after emergency responders treated the injured employees. The sheriff’s office told local media outlets that the violent confrontation stemmed from a dispute that began the previous night in a different county, suggesting the suspects deliberately traveled to the restaurant to target the employee.

Suspects Face Multiple Charges

Authorities have identified the two suspects and issued arrest warrants for both women. Bush faces charges of battery and reckless conduct for allegedly deploying the pepper spray inside the restaurant. McCladdie has been charged with simple battery for the physical assault on the server. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is currently working to persuade both suspects to surrender themselves to law enforcement.
