Protester STRUCK by Car During Walkout

A minor participating in a student walkout protest against federal immigration enforcement was struck by a vehicle near Palm Beach Lakes High School, prompting a police investigation into the incident.

Collision Details and Investigation

West Palm Beach Police responded to the pedestrian-vehicle collision along the 5300 block of North Military Trail around 12:30 p.m. The young pedestrian had been participating in a walkout protest when the crash occurred. The driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement officials as they conduct their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The collision location sits directly adjacent to Palm Beach Lakes High School, where students had been participating in organized protest activities. Video footage circulating on social media platforms shows students from multiple Palm Beach County public schools walking out of their classrooms as part of coordinated demonstration efforts across the district.

Student Protests Target Federal Immigration Policy

The walkout represents student opposition to recent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations conducted nationwide in recent months. Students organized the demonstration to voice their concerns about federal immigration enforcement tactics being implemented across various communities. The Palm Beach County School District issued an official statement to local news outlets regarding the situation, but did not provide specific details about their response to the student walkouts.

Safety Concerns During Student Demonstrations

The incident highlights potential safety risks when student protests move beyond school property boundaries onto public roadways and sidewalks. Police have not released details about the minor’s condition or whether charges will be filed in connection with the collision. The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the crash during the student demonstration activities.

  1. First off ,, if the ” children ” were allowed to skip school to protest ,,,,,,,, every parent should be at the next school board meeting and petition to boot out all members !!! Second ,,, boo-hoo to the kid that got hit ,, if he would have been in the classroom where he belonged , this would not have happened !!!!

  2. These teachers are to blame & should be held accountable! These kids have no business getting involved in a federal operation! Why were they allowed to skip school & not be in class? Sue the school board & the teachers that took part!!! Parents should be outraged!!!

  3. Here is a concept: mandate having Civics Courses in all high or junior high schools (15 states do not have specific requirements for a Civics course at all!) and review the curriculum and monitor the teachers for accuracy and non-bias. I still remember my 1960’s Civics class from junior high school and the teacher’s (I still remember her name, Miss Golden) dominant piece of advice, “You are free to do anything you like as long as you are aware and ready to pay the price of your actions”. Teachers’ jobs are to teach, plain and simple and not instill their political bias into young, impressionable minds. The teachers who actually facilitated these walkouts and protests need to be fired.

  4. Let me think about this. Our school are failing our children by their teaching skills, Most of our public school are way behind academically compared to the charter schools and other nation schools, The attendance rates in our public school are dismal. Americans pay more than any other nation for the public education. Children of color ( brown and black) are far below in academic achievement then white and Asian children, I true;;y fail to see where allowing children to attend protest marches is going to improve all the other failing our educators have in our system.
