Arkansas Dad RAMS Truck During Highway Pursuit

Aaron Spencer, facing second-degree murder charges for killing his daughter’s alleged rapist, has captured the Republican nomination for sheriff in Lonoke County, Arkansas, winning 53% of the vote against incumbent Sheriff John Staley and officer David A. Bufford in the March 3 primary.

The Fatal Confrontation

On October 17, 2024, Spencer’s wife called 911, reporting their daughter missing from her bedroom. Spencer located Michael Fosler’s white Ford truck on the highway with his daughter inside. After a six-mile pursuit, Spencer rammed the vehicle into a ditch. He then fired 16 shots, with 15 bullets striking Fosler, and pistol-whipped him. Spencer immediately called 911, stating that Fosler was dead for attempting to kidnap his daughter.

Fosler had been arrested three months earlier on rape and internet stalking charges involving Spencer’s minor daughter. Police obtained warrants following an investigation by the Wade Knox Children’s Advocacy Center. Despite the felony charges, Fosler posted $50,000 bond and was released on July 17, 2024. Court records show Spencer had confronted authorities about the case before the shooting, with one officer warning him against taking the law into his own hands.

Community Support and Legal Defense

Spencer’s attorney, William Cassinelli, released a statement emphasizing that Lonoke County residents rallied behind his client. The defense argues Spencer acted within legal boundaries to protect his daughter and himself from harm. Cassinelli criticized the low bond amount that allowed Fosler’s release, calling the alleged predator undeterred by criminal charges. Spencer announced his campaign in October, identifying himself as the father who acted when the system failed.

What Happens Next

The election victory creates an unprecedented situation where a sheriff nominee faces murder charges. Cassinelli maintains the election results demonstrate community support for Spencer’s broader mission to bring accountability to county government. The attorney insists the facts show Spencer protected his daughter as any father would. Spencer’s primary win in Lonoke County, located 26 miles east of Little Rock, positions him as the Republican candidate despite ongoing criminal proceedings against him.

  1. Was his daughter in the truck when he rammed if, or did he hunt him down like a wild animal? 16 shots shows uncontrollable anger, hate, unnecessary aggression. A double tap would have done the job if he can shoot accurately under stress. Do they really want a man with that temper as Sheriff? Just pointing out some details.

  2. The one immutable rule in a gunfight is to lay your man down.
The stalker and kidnapper forfeited his humanity. The father had every obligation and duty to protect his daughter with all necessary force.
To take a risk endangering his daughter would have been without excuse. Monday Morning Quarterbacking is delusional, insane, nuts. Half measures are fatal to the innocent. The “System” had repeatedly failed to offer reasonable alternatives.
Law is force, as so eloquently examined in the pamphlet by Frederic Bastiat, that has no regard for Justice, absent morality.
The fact that 15 of 16 shots dispatched the criminal, and no innocent was hit, demonstrates control. Anger as it existed drove both courage and Justice to save the life of a child.

  3. Terrible journalism. I knew this guy was white by the headline,
Arkansas DAD RAMS TRUCK! Talk about bias!! This is why there will never be peace amongst the people. I hope people can see the propaganda here. This blurred narrative of reporting needs to be reported in the same fashion you report crimes in the black community.

  4. That father did what he was supposed to do protect his daughter. That SOB should not have been back on the streets anyway. If I read it correctly he had already rapped that girl before and posted bail. What the hell is wrong with system. I would have done the same thing. VOTE SPENCER FOR SHERIFF.
