Mexican Killers of THIS American Get 158 Years

Three Mexican nationals received 158-year prison sentences for murdering two Australian brothers and an American during a surfing trip, killing them over vehicle parts in a crime so brutal it shocked even violence-hardened Baja California.

Execution Over Truck Tires

Jake and Callum Robinson, aged 30 and 33, traveled to Mexico’s Pacific coast with their American friend Carter Rhoad, 30, for what should have been a memorable surfing adventure. On April 27, 2024, the three camped near Ensenada when attackers spotted their pickup truck. Chief state prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez said the killers wanted the vehicle’s tires and parts. The tourists were shot dead during the attempted robbery, their lives ended over automotive components.

Judge Raul Hernandez determined the three defendants acted with premeditation. The convicted men were identified only as Jesus Gerardo, known as “el Kekas,” Irineo Francisco, and Angel Jesus. Court records showed Jesus Gerardo already had a criminal history before these murders. Prosecutors argued the victims were not targeted as tourists but simply happened to possess something the criminals wanted.

Desperate Cover-Up Failed

After the murders, the killers launched a frantic evidence destruction effort. They burned the victims’ tents and truck, then dumped the three bodies down a remote well nearly four miles from the attack site. Investigators described the location as extremely difficult to access. The well had been covered with boards, making it almost impossible to locate, according to Andrade Ramirez. Recovery teams needed two hours to extract the bodies from the concealed location.

Investigators discovered a fourth body in the same well, one that had been there considerably longer. Authorities suspect the same men may have committed that earlier killing, though no charges have been filed in connection with it. The discovery highlighted a pattern of violence that may extend beyond this case.

Families Demand Justice

The victims’ families participated in the sentencing hearing via video link from their home countries. Carter Rhoad’s mother, Page, said no sentence could truly deliver justice for losing a son, but expressed relief these men would never harm anyone else. Rhoad’s fiancee, Natalie Weirtz, addressed the court demanding punishment to prevent other families from suffering similar pain. The couple had planned to marry just months after Rhoad was killed.

Martin and Debra Robinson lost both their sons in the attack. Debra Robinson said the cruelty her sons experienced in their final hours caused the deepest pain. Prosecutors sought over $100,000 in damages, but Judge Hernandez rejected the request, directing families to pursue compensation through separate civil proceedings. The case shook Ensenada, a popular surfing destination that attracts visitors worldwide, demonstrating that even in Mexico’s violent regions, such callous disregard for human life over trivial property remains shocking.
