A Philadelphia gym employee fights for his life after a banned member returned to a Planet Fitness location and launched a vicious stabbing attack that left authorities charging the suspect with attempted murder.

Violent Attack at Suburban Gym

Davier Massey, 28, attacked a male employee multiple times with a knife Thursday afternoon at the Planet Fitness in Wyncote, located in Cheltenham Township just outside Philadelphia. Police responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m. after receiving reports of the stabbing. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was rushed to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released updates on his current condition. Massey was apprehended a short distance from the gym shortly after the attack.

Serious Charges Filed

Montgomery County prosecutors hit Massey with a lengthy list of charges including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and possession of an instrument of crime. A judge denied bail, and Massey remains locked up at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility awaiting court proceedings.
