ARRESTED — Plot To Kill Congressman STOPPED

Federal authorities arrested a 17-year-old Texas boy who allegedly plotted to assassinate U.S. Representative Keith Self and carry out a terrorist attack in North Texas on behalf of ISIS, according to law enforcement sources.

Swift FBI Action Prevents Attack

The teenager, whose identity remains protected due to his age, was taken into custody on October 5 after acquiring a firearm. Federal investigators had been monitoring the suspect for an extended period before making the arrest. The teen allegedly planned to target Representative Self at a public event on October 21, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

Representative Self, a Republican representing Texas’s 3rd Congressional District, confirmed the threat in a statement thanking law enforcement. The 25-year military veteran said his family remains safe and he continues serving his constituents. Self stated that defending America from radical threats requires accepting personal risks, including name-calling, threats, and worse, but such dangers only strengthen his determination.

ISIS Connection Under Investigation

Federal investigators believe the teenager was planning a separate terrorist attack beyond the assassination plot. The suspect allegedly expressed support for ISIS and intended to carry out violence in the organization’s name. Representative Self told reporters the FBI informed him through Capitol Police that agents had known about the teenager for some time before the arrest, though officials shared limited details with him about the investigation.

When asked whether his public stance against Islamic extremism made him a target, Self acknowledged the possibility but said he could not confirm the motivation with certainty. The congressman has taken prominent positions on issues related to radical Islam during his time in office.

Congressman’s Anti-Sharia Advocacy

Representative Self introduced a congressional resolution last month denouncing Sharia law and opposing any implementation of Islamic legal principles in the United States. He also co-founded the Sharia-Free America Caucus with Representative Chip Roy last year to combat what they view as dangerous foreign legal influences. Self is currently seeking a third term in Congress in the upcoming November midterm elections.

The FBI has not released additional information about the case. Federal authorities continue investigating whether the teenager had connections to other individuals or extremist networks. The arrest highlights ongoing concerns about homegrown terrorism and radicalized youth in America.

  1. My fear is this is going to become worse in our great country unless something is done regarding these foreign invaders that never planned to live in our society. Their only intent is take over America and make it the country they came from, which is mostly Muslim Middle Eastern countries. By the way they live under Sharia Law. Wake up folks this could be on our horizon and very soon if people in Congress, rogue Judges and the globalists get their way.
