Breach at North Barricade Prompts Investigation

Capitol Police arrested the unidentified suspect after he drove a Ford Bronco bearing Florida license plates to the North Barricade of the Capitol grounds. Officers discovered firearms inside the vehicle, a direct violation of federal law prohibiting weapons on Capitol property. Authorities immediately closed the surrounding area and launched an investigation into why the man traveled to Washington and what prompted him to drive onto restricted grounds with weapons in his possession.

The suspect has not been publicly identified, and no charges have been announced as of Monday afternoon.
