Delta Air Lines announced a complete overhaul of its premium Delta One cabin service, introducing wagyu beef burgers, wines retailing over $200 per bottle, and an expanded fleet of Porsche airport transfers as the Atlanta-based carrier intensifies competition for high-spending travelers.
Premium Menu and Beverage Upgrades
The airline revealed Wednesday that its revamped Delta One experience will debut on transoceanic flights from Los Angeles International Airport this fall before expanding globally in early 2027. The new menu features wagyu beef burgers, roasted sea bass, braised lamb, and beef short ribs, alongside upgraded desserts including a dairy-free sorbet passengers can pair with champagne. Delta Chief Marketing and Product Officer Ranjan Goswami stated every investment delivers the industry’s most premium end-to-end travel experience while giving customers greater control throughout their journey.
The beverage lineup receives significant enhancements starting December 1 with the addition of single-barrel bourbon, while the revamped wine program showcases 13 wines from 11 wineries. The selection includes Silver Oak wines that retail for more than $200 per bottle. New cocktail options include alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions of popular drinks beginning in 2027, with sake available on Tokyo flights starting November 3.
Extended Meal Selection and Sleep Options
Delta expanded meal pre-selection capabilities, allowing passengers to order entrees up to 18 hours before departure, six hours closer to takeoff than previously permitted. Travelers prioritizing sleep on long-haul flights can now skip the morning meal service entirely and request only coffee and a croissant before landing. This flexibility addresses demands from premium customers who value personalized service over standardized meal timing.
Luxury Amenities and Ground Transportation
New amenity kits from Italian fashion house Missoni launch November 3, featuring high-end skincare products, dental kits, and branded items. The airline introduces Missoni Mini pillows on transoceanic routes and brings back premium socks on select domestic and international Delta One flights. Delta announced plans to expand its Porsche airport transfer fleet from 40 to 70 vehicles across 15 airports and hubs by 2028, reinforcing its commitment to luxury ground transportation for premium passengers.
Employee-Tested Development Process
More than 200 Delta flight attendants and employees participated in developing and testing the revamped experience over 14 months. Senior Vice President of Brand Experience Kristen Manion Taylor emphasized that luxury means having experiences designed around individual preferences, noting today’s premium travelers value choice as much as quality. The enhancements aim to ensure every Delta One customer enjoys their journey according to personal preferences, not airline-dictated schedules.

I wonder how much this cost? I know it’s a lot more than I can afford!
I lost all respect for the U.S. airlines bureaucracy and their ability to make good decisions when I retired from the U.S. Air Force. With two degrees in the field and 19 years of Avionics experience I sent resumes to every major airline – Zero replies. Then, a couple of years later I read in an aviation magazine how the major airlines in America were winning because they couldn’t find skilled technicians.
I never returned to the aircraft maintenance field after Air Force retirement and Not by choice. Like so many other highly trained and qualified technicians I have worked with, we chose to go where the money is and utilize our extensive training in electronics and instrumentation in other fields where these skills can be employed at a much higher rate of pay. The airlines are for too busy making their top executives filthy rich, reducing amenities on flights and taking shortcuts on safety.
I’m 71 years old with an 80% VA rated disability and recently flew through Chicago. I requested assistance from American Airlines (more like UN-American) and was ignored, disrespected and left to fend for myself. My complaint is filed on ‘Pissed Consumer’. I’ll never fly UN-American Airlines again and definitely never travel through Chicago O’Hare airport.
