281 Arrested in Child Predator Sting: 17 Theme Park Workers

A massive seven-day law enforcement operation in Polk County, Florida resulted in 281 arrests for human trafficking and child predator offenses, including 17 employees from Disney World and Universal Studios who allegedly traveled to meet children for sexual activity.

Major Theme Park Companies Face Employee Arrests

Sheriff Grady Judd announced Friday that the joint operation specifically targeted predators who prey upon children and engage in human trafficking. Among those arrested, 13 worked for Disney and four for Universal Studios. According to Sheriff Judd, Disney has cooperated fully with law enforcement and terminated all arrested employees immediately following the operation. The arrests raise serious questions about background screening processes at major entertainment companies trusted by millions of American families each year.

The operation revealed disturbing details about suspects who held positions of trust around children. Thirty-one suspects traveled specifically to Polk County attempting to meet minors for illegal sexual activity. One arrested individual served as head coach for the Davenport Titans youth football team, working directly with children aged 11 to 14. He allegedly believed he was meeting a 14-year-old girl. Another Disney employee arrived with his uniform in his vehicle to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old boy, but was actually an undercover detective.

Armed Suspects and Immigration Violations Uncovered

The operation uncovered additional alarming findings beyond the child predator arrests. Twenty-four suspects brought firearms to their planned meetings with minors, while nine were already on probation for previous offenses. Sheriff Judd reported that 32 suspects were undocumented immigrants, with 16 already transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. One suspect on active Navy duty was also arrested during the operation. A former Disney employee who previously performed as Mickey Mouse was caught with two backpacks filled with diapers, related to what authorities described as a diaper fetish.

What This Means for Family Safety

Sheriff Judd emphasized the critical importance of these operations in protecting children from predators. “It is extremely disturbing when we encounter nasty child predators like these who are very eager to have sex with children,” Judd stated, explaining why law enforcement conducts such undercover operations. The arrests demonstrate that child predators infiltrate trusted institutions where families take their children for wholesome entertainment. Parents must remain vigilant about who interacts with their children, even in seemingly safe environments. The operation serves as a stark reminder that threats to children exist everywhere, requiring constant law enforcement vigilance and parental awareness to protect America’s most vulnerable citizens from those who would exploit them.
