A shocking incident outside a New Jersey preschool captured on surveillance video shows the dangerous consequences of drunk driving when it endangers innocent families in broad daylight.

Terrifying Collision at School Pickup

Patrice Pisani and her two young sons were struck by a gray SUV outside Bloom Academy in Freehold, Monmouth County, around 3 p.m. The family had just exited the preschool when the vehicle slammed into them. Surveillance footage shows Pisani quickly pulling one child to safety before the SUV crashed into a pillar. The impact knocked her youngest son to the ground, with the tire striking his leg.

The SUV continued moving after the initial collision, striking both the mother and her older son from behind. The force pinned them against a safety railing while school staff rushed outside to assist the injured family. The driver then stumbled from her vehicle, clearly impaired according to witnesses and police reports.

Injuries and Charges Filed

The youngest child suffered leg injuries and burns from contact with the vehicle’s undercarriage. Pisani sustained back and neck injuries, while her older son received minor injuries. All three family members were transported to a local hospital and later released. Angela Arrigo, 68, of Manalapan, faces charges including driving while intoxicated, assault by auto, and endangering child welfare.

School Safety Concerns Raised

Freehold Police confirmed Arrigo was at the school to pick up another child when the incident occurred. Bloom Academy officials expressed gratitude that injuries were not more severe while emphasizing their commitment to student and family safety. The incident highlights the vulnerability of families during routine school activities and the devastating impact of impaired driving on communities.
